Nuclear... yes or no?

Il governo italiano andrà avanti sulla strada del ritorno al nucleare.
 Ma "non si potranno realizzare le centrali nucleari nelle regioni che si
 esprimeranno negativamente sulla localizzazione degli impianti
nel loro territorio". Lo ha affermato il sottosegretario allo
Sviluppo economico, Stefano Saglia, nelle commissioni Ambiente
 e Attività produttive della Camera. Il programma energetico nucleare
 non potrà essere realizzato in assenza di una totale condivisione delle
comunità territoriali coinvolte", ha precisato Saglia, il quale ha aggiunto però
che non è questo il "momento più opportuno per modificare le decisioni
 di politica energetica" sull'onda dell'emozione di quanto accaduto in Giappone.

Saglia ha sottolineato infatti che la "tragedia immane" in atto in
Giappone non è connessa con le scelte per il nucleare, ma si tratta di
 una "catastrofe inimmaginabile con conseguenze imprevedibili".

La domanda sorge spontanea: Ma se in Giappone non ci fosse stata
 nessuna centrale non avrebbero avuto un problema in meno? Fra l'altro
non pensate che tutto questo avra' delle conseguenze anche su di noi che
 non viviamo li'? Cosa ne pensate?

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest (Millennium Trilogy)

But does it match up to its two electrifying predecessors, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl who Played with Fire? The success of Larsson’s remarkable sequence of books is, to some degree, unprecedented. Crime fiction in translation has, of course, made a mark before (notably with Peter Hoeg’s Miss Smilla’s Feeling for Snow, published, in fact, by Larsson's British publisher, Christopher MacLehose). But even the success of that book gave no hint of the juggernauts that the Salander books would be (the late author's secondary hero is the journalist Blomqvist -- who bears more than a passing resemblance to Stieg Larsson himself).
